Fonts: Make some changes (before font-statusbar)

This is mostly for !38968, which isn't saving the artifacts because it has touched too many packages. (I want to test that using mrtest, but I can't because of this error:)

2 changes are quality of package improvements which were discovered in !36830 (closed), the other changes are for adding provides to some of the packages (which will be helpful for !38968, which adds some more of these provides and uses them for font-statusbar subpackages)
