Documentation on Using with Azure
There isn't much to go on for documentation on how tiny
is used to roll out a VM in Azure using the releases here
I've tried deploying a VM using a tiny
.vhd
downloaded from that site using both a Specialized and Generalized Image Version in a Compute Gallery. I've been successful in getting a cloudinit
.vhd
deployed but haven't quite been able to deploy a tiny-cloud
release.
With the cloudinit
.vhd
- I was able to (in the Portal and through a terraform
azurerm_linux_virtual_machine
resource) apply a Generalized
image and pass in the default alpine
user, some generated SSH public keys, and everything worked mostly without a hitch.
When I attempt a similar process with Generalized
tiny
image - I get an error an OsProvisioningTimedOut
error. It happens after about 20 minutes of trying to deploy (the cloudinit
deploy only takes maybe 5?), after the Provisioning Time Out the machine will actually report a Running
state but I'm not able to ssh
into the machine using the same ssh
key install procedure that worked for the cloudinit
method.
I would prefer to use the tiny
deployment to minimize the dependencies involved on the image once deployed.
