tiny-cloud not running on boot in 3.16.6 and 3.17.4 AWS images
Hi, we have a packer build currently targeting 3.16.5 however when we went to upgrade to 3.16.6 the build failed. To investigate we mounted the instance volumes on a working instance and found that tiny-cloud doesn't appear to be starting on boot. When chrooted into the 3.16.6 and 3.17.4 image volumes we found that running rc-update
gave the following output
/ # rc-update
acpid | boot
bootmisc | boot
chronyd | default
devfs | sysinit
dmesg | sysinit
hostname | boot
hwclock | boot
hwdrivers | sysinit
killprocs | shutdown
mdev | sysinit
modules | boot
mount-ro | shutdown
networking | default
savecache | shutdown
sshd | default
swap | boot
sysctl | boot
syslog | boot
However for older images (3.16.5) the following output was included
tiny-cloud | default
tiny-cloud-early | sysinit
tiny-cloud-final | default
and for 3.18.2 the output included
tiny-cloud-boot | boot
tiny-cloud-early | default
tiny-cloud-final | default
tiny-cloud-main | default
It appears the tiny-cloud package is installed in the image but doesn't appear to be started on boot.
I'm not yet familiar with the build process in this repo or if any logs are made available from builds to investigate further.
I'm working in us-west-2 the main AMI I'm looking at is ami-005e6060171584f11 (alpine-3.16.6-x86_64-uefi-tiny-r0)
