IPv6 only breaks setup-alpine
During setup of a new Alpine Linux system with only IPv6 connectivity, the hard coded value for setup-apkrepos “MIRRORS_URL=https://mirrors.alpinelinux.org/mirrors.txt”:
1.) seems to always return uk.alpinelinux.org?
2.) does not support IPv6
..which causes “wget: can’t connect to remote host(95.154.244.94): Network unreachable” during repo setup while running setup-alpine.
My workaround was to find a mirror in mirrors.txt that supported v6 (I choose to use leaseweb’s) and add this to my hosts file, while changing the hard coded MIRRORS_URL to the leaseweb url.
Of course one could add some v6 logic in the setup-apkrepos script, but that does not change the issue of the hard coded value only having IPv4. Completely open to working on some logic for this, but just want to know what would be considered an appropriate path forward.
