Issue with Linux-LTS Kernel Update 6.6.6-r0 and Hard Drive Recognition (ext4 File System on LVM, Dahua C800 240GB SSD)
I recently performed a kernel update on my system to version linux-lts-6.6.6-r0 . However, upon rebooting the machine, I encountered a serious issue: the hard drive is no longer recognized by the operating system.
My file system is configured as ext4 on LVM, and the specific hard drive is a Dahua C800 2.5-inch SATA 240GB SSD (model HPS2227N). It's important to note that prior to this update, the hard drive was functioning correctly without displaying any anomalies.
I attempted to mount the hard drive's partitions on another Linux system to recover the data, but the only available option is to format the partitions.
I believe this issue might be related to the kernel update, as it's the only significant modification made to the system recently. However, there's also a possibility of a failure with the hard drive.
To address this situation, I've tried the following:
Verifying the disk's integrity using diagnostic tools, though no physical errors were detected.
Reviewing system logs for error messages related to the hard drive, but no relevant information was found.
I would greatly appreciate your prompt assistance in resolving this issue, as it is crucial to recover the data stored on the affected hard drive. I am eagerly awaiting your instructions or suggestions on how to effectively address this problem.
I am available to provide any additional information that may be necessary to diagnose and resolve this issue.
