Packaging a library that doesn't have a version
I'm new to Alpine Linux, so tell me if this is the wrong place to raise this issue.
Some software never creates a version/release number. For example, the libyuv library. Packaging such a library is a bit tricky, but many Linux distros have already done so, and they have a rule for packaging such software. For example, in Fedora, they choose 0 as a version number, followed by the snapshot information. A similar rule is applied to Debian.
I didn't find any rule for packaging such software in Alpine Linux. So, I'm wondering what the best practice for packaging such software in Alpine Linux is. Since the MR for adding [libyuv](!47300 (closed) is closed due to the lack of a version number, I'm raising this issue.
