anyone using community/umbrello in edge? it crashes on a simple save to disk?

Please be more concise when reporting bugs. A bug report should not have a question like this one in the title, simply "community/umbrello crashes while saving project" was good enough. Also your experiences on Ubuntu aren't relevant, we are not Ubuntu.

Anyways I can reproduce the problem, it's SIGSEGV's while saving. To answer your question, I doubt anyone uses this package at all, at least in Alpine Linux. It's kinda a niche thing so no wonder nobody else has seen this yet.

Not sure why this is happening but I have to admit my interest in investigating it right now is very low since KDE6 is just around the corner and it might just be fixed with the Qt6 build.

alright i wont waste any time on reporting more kde stuff.

Oh no please do report them, it's just that for any non-critical stuff (a.k.a. non-desktop session breaking bugs) the actual debugging from my side will have to wait till after KD6 is released.

This particular crash might still be a problem with KDE6 and it should be investigated as such, so it should remain open. I'm just a single person with a limited amount of time however so can't afford to debug it all now while it might already be fixed in KDE6. That doesn't mean others can't pick this up.

some stuff i noticed when compiling the 24.01.85 package of umbrello against v3.19 stable, is that it contains pretty much optional packages (kdevelop-pgsql is the only one not available in community as pre-packaged)

anyway a simple build ontop of 23.08 frameworks still segvs like before. guess this was expected since umbrello is yet to be upgraded to qt6/kf6

the optional make-dep packages are: (in my case i used [version=17])

llvm[version]-dev, static, gtest
clang[version]-dev, static
threadweaver5-dev

added those when building again without stripping the binaries and added dbg package.

not sure why the kde crash-handler does not trigger like it used to if i remember correctly?

anyway putting this here as a note-to-self or anyone that cares in the future

so the APKBUILD says the tests are broken and such is disabled, enabled them and ran it with umbrello 24.01.85:

so the testsuite for atleast umbrello can be enabled again atleast for 24.02 round.

the issue is triggered in KIO. according to gdb bt.

going to continue this hunt on invent.kde.org so it maybe can get fixed by 24.02 release in end of feb -24.

The tests have been enabled again in !68907 (merged)
