cloud-init creates a default user locked with the wrong character
Testing cloud-init
with Alpine 3.18 in an OpenStack environment reveals that the default user alpine
is locked with the wrong character in /etc/shadow
After cloud-init
alpine:!:19600::::::
Resulting in that ssh login does not work
User alpine not allowed because the account is locked
Changing from !
to *
and ssh
login with ssh user key auth works fine.
