sntpc cannot be stopped nor restarted
To start sntpc, /etc/init.d/sntpc
uses command (after interpolation):
start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --name sntpc --exec /usr/sbin/sntpc -- -i 600 -d pool.ntp.org
To stop sntpc, /etc/init.d/sntpc
uses command (after interpolation):
start-stop-daemon --stop --quiet --exec /usr/sbin/sntpc
Therefore, sntpc appears as "sntpc" in ps aux
, whereas when stopping it looks for /usr/sbin/sntpc
.
Either --name sntpc
should be removed from the start command, or it should be added to the stop command
