`py3-opencv` 4.8.0-r1 does not mark as installed `opencv-python` in system site-packages
https://pkgs.alpinelinux.org/contents?branch=edge&name=py3%2dopencv&arch=x86_64&repo=community currently only lists /usr/lib/python3.11/site-packages/cv2.cpython-311-x86_64-linux-musl.so
. In contrast, installing opencv-python
as a wheel under macOS creates under /usr/lib/python3.11/site-packages/
opencv_python-4.7.0.72.dist-info/
and cv2/
with among other files cv2.abi3.so
. When pip3
is then invoked under Alpine Linux from an activated venv that has system-site-packages = true
, it doesn't see opencv-python
as an installed package, whereas it does under macOS.
For comparison, this issue is not present with pandas, for which many more files are installed under the system site-packages (https://pkgs.alpinelinux.org/contents?branch=edge&name=py3-pandas&arch=x86_64&repo=community).
