gnome-desktop: Power button not sending the device to sleep mode
Hi,
for some weeks now i have noticed a somewhat strange behavior:
Pressing the power button shortly to just send the system to sleep from gnome-desktop will imediately shut down
the device.
- On my main work laptop (ThinkPad) with a few services running the shutdown process takes long enough for the device to actually enter sleep mode. After letting the device sleep for some time and waking it up again it continues to shut down.
- On my secondary device (Surface Go) the system has no time to actually enter sleep mode.
What will happen if the devices are sent to sleep via power options gui menu:
- ThinkPad will sleep normally, wake up with power button works as expected (i suppose some hardware level wake up call, that does not send the power button signal with it)
- Surface will power off immediately after wake up.
I could imagine that eudev does not properly bind the power button to itself only
P.S. the "Power button behavior" is set to "suspend" in settings
