libgcompat as a static lib
This is a question. I see many basic building blocks already include a static library, so there must be a technical reason why libgcompat.a
doesn't exist since it's the glibc compatibility layer
apps likes CPU-X require glibc or libexecinfo which was removed at some point, I found this:

I used to apply a patch to just leave the offending code out and cross compile, but there's a more suitable way with a static libexecinfo or a static libgcompat. Hmmmf

So, technically speaking, libexecinfo-static may still be needed to compile static apps.....
