Change libtorrent version from 2.0.x to 1.2.x?
Hello, I've been suffering from a memory leak in qBittorrent for the past couple months. This was caused when qBittorrent updated and started using libtorrent-2.0.x instead of libtorrent-1.2.x. qBittorrent was not the only application to make this switch. Several other did as well, and many users of those programs began noticing performance issues.
Eventually, the qBittorrent (and other projects) changes were redacted, and the default build of qBittorrent switched back to using libtorrent-1.2.x. This solved the memory leak and performance issues for everyone running qBittorrent on bare metal.
However, myself and many others are running programs and services in Docker. Many creators, including LinuxServer.io use this repo for their container creation and configuration. They claim to be unable to assist in resolving this issue, because it's based on the current version of libtorrent used within alpine.
Would it be at all possible to revert the current version of libtorrent to libtorrent-1.2.x, until the next version of libtorrent is released? The next libtorrent release is suppose to solve the issue.
Here you can find my original issue report on the memory leak I noticed within qBittorrent on the linuxserver/docker-qbittorrent repo.
Here you can see the issue report on the issue within libtorrent. Here you can see a comment 22 days ago from the developer of libtorrent letting us know a fix is coming with libtorrent-2.0.8
Here you can find one of the LinuxServer.io developers letting us know their containers are all based on Alpine and linking us here if we wish to submit a request.
