No HDMI output on certain TV with RPi 3 B+
I have a RPi 3 B+ and with Alpine on it I don’t get display output to 1
When the Pi is on and I fully restart the TV (so not standby) I see display output for a second or 2, then the image disappears and the TV goes into standby. It seems to think there’s no output from the Pi. The TV’s HDMI input gets renamed to “raspberry” however so it does pick something up. Also I’m sure the OS is still running cause I can SSH into it (after configuring SSH on a working display that is).
I tried various HDMI related settings in config.txt (hdmi_force_hotplug, hdmi_safe, config_hdmi_boost, hdmi_drive, hdmi_group + hdmi_mode, hdmi_force_mode) but none of them fix the issue.
I do get image with all other displays I tried, and also the exact same
setup (TV + cables) works fine out of the box with Raspbian.
Although I’m sure this particular TV has something to do with it (it’s cheap ass and slow) I do wonder if there might be something in Alpine that causes the HDMI output to behave differently, especially since a vanilla Raspbian install (which has nothing display related set in config.txt) works perfectly fine.
