fixes #include <sys/poll.h> warnings from public headers

Since abuild v2.22.0, these are removed automatically unless 'libtool'
option has been specified.

fix various idiotic constructs. patches are mostly from sabotage,
but some I wrote myself too.

uclibc does not support them.

Should make gstreamer alsa plugin work properly.
