Failed apk add won't let setup-interfaces proceed
I’m running Alpine 3.6.2 (standard). Thanks to
https://bugs.alpinelinux.org/issues/8025, the wlan0 config won’t work
after a reboot and I sometimes forget to run setup-interfaces
to fix
this. Therefore, any resulting apk add
will fail. However, when I run
setup-interfaces
after that, I see that it won’t make it past the
first option:
# apk add linux-hardened-dev
(1/6) Installing libgmpx (6.1.2-r0)
ERROR: libgmpxx-6.1.2-r0: temporary error (try again later)
(2/6) Installing gmp-dev (6.1.2-r0)
ERROR: gmp-dev-6.1.2-r0: temporatry error (try again later)
[...]
# setup-interfaces
Available interfaces are: eth0 wlan0
Enter '?' for help on bridges, bonding and vlans
Which one do you want to initialize? (or '?' or 'done') [eth0] wlan0
ERROR: libgmpxx-6.1.2-r0: temporary error (try again later)
ERROR: gmp-dev-6.1.2-r0: temporatry error (try again later)
To work around this, I must run apk del
first, then
setup-interfaces
, then apk add
again.
I’m marking this as high priority, since it’s a usability bug that doesn’t have an obvious solution until the user attempts to remove the package.
