Is package "main/linux-headers" deprecated or just very out of date?
Currently “main/linux-headers” builds for kernel version 4.4.6 and I
don’t see the point as the current kernel is 4.9.31-1, and the Headers
are provided by the linux-hardened-dev package built automatically.
A lot of things depend on “main/linux-headers”, including DRM, MESA and
MATE.
Since I am interested in getting VBoxvideo.ko to work, which depends on drm.ko, drm_kms_helper.ko provided by MESA, I haven’t got a chance to know whether everything is build correctly.
Any change we CAN deprecate “main/linux-headers” and fix (and update, libdrm for example, where necessary ) the resulting broken packages.
Thx
