Kernel issue Alpine Xen 3.4.6 "udhcpc: socket(AF_PACKET,2,8): Address family not supported by protocol" no network connection
I installed domU Alpine Linux iso using a dom0 Alpine Linux, both
versions 3.4.4, following the tutorial from the wiki. When I upgraded
the kernel version from for dom0 and later for domU (by replacing them
with host vmlinuz and initramfs-grsec)I got the error
socket(AF_PACKET,2,8): Address family not supported by protocol.
Tried to disable IPV6, replacing udhcpc with dhcpcd and other solutions
with no success, the error is pretty similar for dhcpcd. So I restart
from the beginning and I used Alpine 3.4.6 for dom0 and domU as a base.
When I installed domU, in the networking setup step I got the same
error, which I consider it affects this version (and maybe 3.4.5 - I
didn’t test it).
The las working kernel for me was 4.4.22-0-grsec.
Please if someone else could replicate this bug.
