update-kernel script fails if /tmp is <1G
The update-kernel script allocates ~1GB in /tmp. If the /tmp filesystem is not large enough it fails with 'no space left on device'.
It is suggested to add a parameter 'WORKDIR' to override the default TMPDIR definition.
The mkimg.base.sh script - which calls update-kernel - could then add this additional parameter as well.
