Resurrecting this as upstream is maturing more.

Plan of action

• Get test suite running here (could possibly be an issue as it pops up graphical windows during the test)
• Fix failing tests (and/or disable untested/unstable features)
• Merge into testing

Further down the line

• Wait for upstream to tag a stable release
• Move into community
