caddy user directory

when configuring caddy server for https with letsencrypt caddy server try to write into /root/.caddy/ folder but it can’t.

I’ve seen this in caddy issues:

fixed writing in /etc/conf.d/caddy
CADDYPATH=/etc/caddy

It would be great to have stderr redirected a log file, how can I contribute? Do I need to open another issue?
