SSH client will not connect using key-pair

Using current edge, cannot connect to github using a public keypair. Error message that I receive as both standard user and root is “PTY allocation request failed on channel 0”. Tried recreating /dev/ptmx, but still had the issue. Ran an strace on ssh which is attached (without private key passphrase :)). Any ideas?
