texlive isn't compiling .tex files

I did ‘apk add texlive@testing’ and it installed correctly.
Then I tried to compile a .tex file with ‘pdftex’ (first note: shouldn’t it be pdflatex? that’s what I had in other distros)
However, it didn’t work.

This is pdfTeX, Version 3.14159265-2.6-1.40.16 (TeX Live 2015) (preloaded format=pdftex)
restricted \write18 enabled.

Can’t locate mktexlsr.pl in INC (INC contains: //tlpkg //texmf-dist/scripts/texlive /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/local/share/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/core_perl /usr/share/perl5/core_perl .) at /usr/bin/mktexfmt line 24.

I can’t find the format file `pdftex.fmt’!
