iSCSI Target Module (module iscsi_trgt not found in modules.dep)

Credit goes to new user toddf for finding this issue. If necessary, he should be reachable via IRC.

I’ve followed the instructions on the wiki but the ietd seems to be missing a kenrel module, and I’m not finding a wiki article to deal with it..
vmalpine:/etc/init.d$ sudo ./ietd start
* Loading iSCSI-Target modules - iscsi_trgt…
modprobe: module iscsi_trgt not found in modules.dep [!!]
* Starting iSCSI Enterprise Target… [!!]
* ERROR: ietd failed to start
http://alpinelinux.org/wiki/ISCSI\_Target\_and\_Initiator\_Configuration <— just says ‘apk add iscsitarget’
looks like that should also say:
apk add iscsitarget-grsec
hm.. that page was last updated May 19th, 2010
version 2.0.0 came out in August
or iscsitarget might want a dependency on iscsitarget-grsec (probably best option)
I’m thinking those instructions are outdated a bit, if not then the kernel perhaps needs some adjustments
yeah
…snip…
up to you how you solve it, tweak the wiki or add a dependency to the iscsitarget package, your choice
ok, I think I got it.. I’ll go ahead and e-mail the devel list and see what they want to do about it
should be easy to test, btw, no setup required, just ‘apk add iscsitarget’ ‘cd /etc/init.d;./ietd start’
ah, I gotcha
