rt2800usb driver missing support for multiple devices
The list of aliases returned by ‘modinfo rt2800usb’ is missing a substantial number of devices, many of which show up in significantly older mainline kernels (eg: Debian Wheezy, 3.2.0). Manually loading the rt2800usb module with modprobe and adding the Vendor/Device to it (echo “V### D### FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF 0 0 0” > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/rt2800usb/new_id) temporarily resolves the issue and allows the attached wifi adapter to function until the next reboot.
I’ve attached the relevant modinfo outputs from a couple different systems, over 100 missing aliases can be identified in the Alpine module by diffing them.
