Syslinux Package bug for 2.6
When using Alpine 2.6.x to create a new bootable USB stick, there is a
bug in how the new stick is made. On the new stick, syslinux does not
respect the “timeout” value from syslinux.cfg. The result is that a
device will not boot off of the newly generated stick unless ENTER is
pressed at some point in the boot process. It happens early enough in
the boot process that this cannot be done remotely, even from a COM
server. You have to physically be at the device.
I believe this is fixed in Alpine 2.7. Can this bug fix be back-ported
to Alpine 2.6 please? Many devices in our network have standardized on
2.6 and when it may be time to upgrade, this will cause an issue.
