When I check dmesg for words like error, warn, crit, firmware, etc. nothing shows.
When I remove the intel_pstate lines from my grub config, the machine will usually lock up during boot. With them present, I can use a console session seemingly normally, and can work in the DE from anywhere from 0seconds to a minute or two before locking up.
