Slow Wi-Fi connection. Enable CONFIG_RTL8XXXU_UNTESTED=y on kernels
Some realtek Wi-Fi dongles are very slow on Linux. This can be fixed by loading the newer rtl8xxxu module with most devices. However, support for untested devices is not compiled into the kernel. This makes using any of these dongles very painful on Alpine, since it is necessary to revert to the old obsolete modules, having to endure internet speeds of kbs/s.
Please enable CONFIG_RTL8XXXU_UNTESTED=y in the next kernels to improve hardware support. While this is an experimental option, I have never found a single problem with it on different hardware, so it seems to be relatively stable.
