-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reason The ide drivers gets loaded first. Which is loaded first seems to depend on how/when depmod was run and is completetly unpredictable.

### Solution 1. Use UUID=… instead of devices in fstab and exlinux.conf 2. disable the IDE drivers and use scsi emulation only. (/dev/hdX will dissapear) This is what debian, ubuntu and fedora does.

/etc/init.d/modloop stop is already designed to do this.
Since /etc/init.d/localmount stop umounts modloop, a
/etc/init.d/localmount restart will fail to mount any device which
requires new modules to be loaded.
For example, in the document
[http://wiki.alpinelinux.org/w/index.php?title=Setting\_up\_Logical\_Volumes\_with\_LVM](http://wiki.alpinelinux.org/w/index.php?title=Setting\_up\_Logical\_Volumes\_with\_LVM),
the instructions include running /etc/init.d/localmount start in order
to mount a new xfs partition. This requires loading the xfs module. Here
is what happens:
1. localmount is already started in 1.9 upon bootup, since it is a
‘need’ dependency of /etc/init.d/bootmisc, and bootmisc is in the
boot runlevel
1. Therefore the only option is to do /etc/init.d/localmount
restart (rc will not allow starting of a service that is
“already started”)
2. /etc/init.d/localmount restart first stops localmount, which umounts
modloop.
3. /etc/init.d/localmount restart then tries to mount the new xfs
partition, but cannot load the xfs module, so that it fails.
I think the following change should fix the problem:

set permissions to 755, not 777. Openssh also creates the same
directory, but with the correct permissions.
If you install openssh, you can start sshd just fine. But, if you
install the quagga package before installing the openssh package, sshd
won’t start. And it remains that way forever, because packages are
installed in the same order after a reboot.
Same for 1.9 and 1.9.1 and latest from repositories.

main/openssl: update padlock sha patches
New version of padlock sha patches that do not use the seg.fault handler trick.
It requires application to properly use oneshot mode context flag, or the high
level full operation methods to take use of VIA C7 SHA acceleration. VIA Nano
support is included in this patch and supports the partial transforms, so it
gets accelerated always.

Set up my proxy settings
export http_proxy=http://proxy:8080
And tried to update apk repository
apk update
But the update fails
ERROR: Failed to update http://dl-3.alpinelinux.org/alpine/v1.10/packages/main
If you try **wget** you will even get ‘Segmentation fault’
testbox:~# wget http://dl-3.alpinelinux.org/alpine/v1.10/packages/main
Connecting to proxy:8080 (192.168.1.100:8080)
Segmentation fault
Solution to the above problem is to install the ‘real’ wget
apk add wget
but the problem is that if you are behind proxy, you won’t be able to
get it :-/
(When you have installed wget you have no problems with the proxy.)
Any ideas on how to solve this?

entry point to find git, docs, downloads, mailing lists etc. The
navigation still reflects this. Now, since we have another site for
that, the wiki frontpage should make it clear that this is a
documentation site. The main purpose of the frontpage here is to help
user find the documentation he is looking for.
To do so I suggest we remove everything thats not documentation related
from the navigation bar, have 3 big icons on front page helping users
find the 3 most common things users are looking for. For example
“install documtentation”, “Users handbook/manual/documentation” and
“Developers handbook/manual/docuementation” or similar.

but has also happened on http://www.slashdot.org. Ran an strace, which
didn’t reveal why the segfault occured, although the last element to get
requested before midori crashed was a jpeg. Perhaps coincidentally,
libjpeg.so.8 was being requested by midori, but only libjpeg.so.7 was
available on the system. A symlink of /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.8 to
/usr/lib/libjpeg.so.7 allowed midori to run, but might be part of the
issue.

10 freeswitch processes appear to have been started in the process list
but there is no indication of real functionality (registrations, fs\_cli
connection, calls, etc)
It has been observed that *sometimes* the process starts completely and
functions normally. If there is any need to restart the process then it
risks to hang as above.
I have not been able to observe a pattern to the hang. It appears that
*sometimes* the process can be started successfully after some unknown
period of time or by going to a different console.
No message have been found in logs re: this problem.

error:
2010/03/17 08:27:38, 0] libads/sasl.c:819(ads_sasl_spnego_bind)
kinit succeeded but ads_sasl_spnego_krb5_bind failed: Program lacks support for encryption type
Failed to join domain: failed to connect to AD: Program lacks support for encryption type
The versions are Heimdal Kerberos 1.3.1 and Samba 3.4.7.
After some investigation I found the following:
- Heimdal removed support for DES encryption in 1.3.0
- Samba makes its own krb5.conf at the following location:
/var/cache/samba/smb_krb5/krb5.conf.DOMAIN
- MIT kerberos has experienced similar problems when removing DES
encryption:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=566977
\* This was fixed upstream by MIT kerberos filtering weak encryption
instead of rejecting it. Could this be done by Heimdal Kerberos as
well?
It seems that the issue is:
1. Samba turns on weak encryption by default in it’s krb5.conf.DOMAIN
2. Heimdal Kerberos rejects this because it contains weak encryption
types
Suggested solutions
-------------------
1. Heimdal Kerberos should filter it instead, as MIT Kerberos does in
1.8 alpha1
2. Samba should remove deprecated weak encryption from it’s
krb5.conf.DOMAIN
It is possible to turn on weak encryption in Heimdal kerberos by adding
allow\_weak\_crypto=yes to krb5.conf, but this is not transferred to
Samba’s krb5.conf.DOMAIN

Which is different from my /etc/kerberos/krb5.conf.
This file is generated by libads in samba 3, more specifically:
source3/libads/kerberos.c function
create\_local\_private\_krb5\_conf\_for\_domain which seems to take the
kdc and REALM settings from somewhere, and is hardcoding the rest of the
crypto information.

I have the following in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:
socket listen {
# These lines below are for the deliver lda
master {
path = /var/run/dovecot/auth-master
mode = 0660
user = vmail
group = vmail
}
}
Running ls -l /var/run shows no dovecot directory in /var/run
To work around the problem the dovecot can be manually created as root.
Starting dovecot then succeeds, and the auth-master file is created with
the correct permissions.
Perhaps the /var/run/dovecot directory be created automatically when
dovecot is installed, or dovecot is started? Could this be a permissions
problem of some sort?
