I have as project to make a wireless accesspoint with my ALpine + Alix
board hardware .
My Wireless card is a Atheros AR2413 802.11bg . This seems fine
supported . At least the Alpine already loads the driver and shows up a
wlan0 interface.
I’ll need 3 packages for managing the AP :
Links to the tools (stable versions) :
\- wireless-tools :
http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean\_Tourrilhes/Linux/Tools.html
download :
http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean\_Tourrilhes/Linux/wireless\_tools.29.tar.gz
\- hostapd : http://hostap.epitest.fi/hostapd/
download : http://hostap.epitest.fi/releases/hostapd-0.6.9.tar.gz
To secure the AP :
\- wpa\_supplicant : http://hostap.epitest.fi/wpa\_supplicant/
download :
http://hostap.epitest.fi/releases/wpa\_supplicant-0.6.9.tar.gz
Let me know if i missed something .
I ll hope to test the package soon :p

Nicolas
