Talk length: 25 minutes
Summary: systemd has a concept of "slices" that are used to contain groups of processes while also capturing logs, enforcing limits, blessing capabilities and managing process lifetime. This talk would explain what they are, how they work, and why they are useful. This would also establish a tradition of me being the one dissenter that gives talks about how systemd works at a conference where nobody using the distribution can immediately benefit from them. This will help give guidance to why some of the things that are in systemd are there (Chesterton's Fence style), hopefully giving people ideas on how to improve this concept for the OpenRC replacement.
